Griliches Snr., head of Alexander II right within wreath, rev. view of the College building, 1835-1885 in two shields in exergue, artist´s name below exergual line partly erased, 95mm. (Diakov 958; Smirnov 898), good very fine Estimate £ 200-300 According to the legend on the reverse of this medal the Meschanskoe College was founded by the Moscow Merchant Society in memory of the Majority of Cesarevitch Alexander Nikolaevich.
