Family Group: Three: Lieutenant-Colonel Sir R.A.W. Dent [C.B.], King´s Royal Rifle Corps 1914-15 Star (2.Lieut: R.A.W. Dent. K.R.Rif:C.); British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. Oakleaves (Lieut. R.A.W. Dent), extremely fine Pair: Second Lieutenant R.T. Dent, Rifle Brigade, Killed in Action, 24.3.1918 British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut. R.T. Dent.), extremely fine, both groups in individual glass fronted display cases (5) Estimate £ 300-350 R.A.W. and R.T. Dent were brothers. Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Robert Annesley Wilkinson Dent, C.B. (1895-1983), the eldest son of R.W. Dent, JP, Flass, Maulds Meaburn, Penrith; educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge; served during the Great War with the 6th Battalion King´s Royal Rifle Brigade on the Western Front (M.I.D.; Wounded); Lieutenant 26.6.1916; Aide-de-Camp 19.7.1917; Assistant Clerk, House of Commons, 1920; re-engaged for the Second World War in 1940 and served with G.H.Q. Home Forces and at the War Office as Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel A.Q.M.G, 1943-45; Clerk of Public Bills, 1948-59 (C.B. 1951); High Sheriff, Westmorland, 1960 (Kt. 1960). Second Lieutenant Reginald Teesdale Dent served during the Great War with the 6th Battalion Rifle Brigade on the Western Front, and was killed in action whilst attached to the 2nd Battalion, 24.3.1918, he is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
