A Pair of Target Pistols A cased pair of percussion target-pistols by Gastinne Renette, the elaborately-etched metal furniture with original French-style grey finish, ornately-carved ebony butts, octagonal rifled barrels with maker´s name GASTINNE RENETTE A PARIS on the top flats, French marks 805 (indicating year of manufacture 1852), and adjustable single set triggers; in a lined and fitted case, complete with accessories of the period but probably not original to the set; together with a copy of "Guns Review" Vol 13 No 7 (July 1973) bearing a photograph of the pistols and accessories on the front cover See illustration Estimate £ 6,000-9,000
