Brig. 18014 Private Edward Robert Hurst, M.M., enlisted as 131 Private, Rifle Brigade; transferred to 5th Company, Machine Gun Corps on its formation as part of 2nd Division, 1.1.1916; discharged 8.2.1919. Sergeant Hurst´s Military Medal was probably awarded for the Battle of Ancre, November 1916. Also awarded Silver War Badge (List no. MGC/624).
