Grice, Machine Gun Corps, Late Norfolk Regiment, Who Distinguished Himself in Action with the Norfolks at Gallipoli Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.V.R. (50163 Sjt. S.G. Grice. 54/M.G.C.), nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 500-600 D.C.M. London Gazette 11.3.1920 50163 Sjt. S.G. Grice, 54th Bn., M.G.C., T.F. (Gt. Yarmouth) (Palestine). ´He has frequently distinguished himself in action, both in Gallipoli and in Egypt and Palestine. His conduct has been exemplary both as a sector serjeant and as A/CQMS, during the operations of 19th September 1918 and subsequently. His conscientious devotion to duty and coolness under fire have given him a splendid record in the unit to which he belongs.´ 50163 Sergeant Sidney G. Grice, D.C.M., enlisted as 3060 Private with the Norfolk Regiment, and served with the 54th (East Anglia) Division; saw action with the 163 Brigade at Suvla and Anzac, Gallipoli, where he was possibly a survivor of the 1/5 Norfolks, the ´Vanished Battalion´; transferred to 54th Battalion, Machine Gun Regiment, 19.4.1918.
