x British Columbia and Vancouver Island Postal History 1868 (17 Jan.) envelope (repaired at top) ex the Mallandaine correspondence from British Columbia to Vancouver, bearing 1865 perf. 12 5c. rose cancelled "1" and showing, on reverse, "general post office/british columbia" c.d.s.; also 1865 (31 May) letter headed "H.M.S. ´Camelion´ Esquimalt" from John Bruce to his sister; the contents commence "We have just arrived from New Westminster and in an hour or so start north on account of some row with the Indians" and 1868 Road tax receipt signed by Mallandaine.
