x CANADA The Small Queen Issue Six Cents Yellowish Brown Montreal and Ottawa Printings, Perforated 12 Covers 1872 (Sept.) Wells, Fargo 6c. orange-brown envelope, handstamped "For Great Britain/and Ireland" vertically at left, from Victoria, B.C. to England, bearing 6c. yellowish brown in combination with U.S. 6c. carmine, indistinctly cancelled and showing "wells, fargo & co/Express/victoria v.i." oval-framed handstamp inverted at foot, New York (18.9) and London Paid (30.9) c.d.s. in red, and manuscript "recd 1/10/72" across envelope stamp impression, no other markings; the envelope a little soiled though an attractive combination franking probably carried by the Hamburg-America Line vessel Westphalia.
