x CANADA The Small Queen Issue Five Cents Olive-Green Ottawa Second Printings, Perforated 12 Covers 1897 (3 May) envelope registered from Langevin, Que. to France, originally bearing 1c. yellow and 3c. orange strip of three cancelled with circle of bars, found to exceed 1/2oz. and showing "returned-for/deficient postage" h.s. completed for "5 Cents" in manuscript, a 5c. brownish grey added and cancelled with "C" in circle handstamp (additionally cancelling the 1c.) of the Constitution Dept., Ottawa Main Post Office, showing "registered" h.s., London Registered oval d.s. (19.5) and Lille arrival c.d.s. (21.5), the reverse with Quebec (4.5), Quebec Central Railway (4.5) and Dead Letter Branch (6.5) c.d.s. and "insufficiently/prepaid" h.s.; a few light fox marks though an attractive franking. Photo
