Constab.), in leather fitted case of issue b) Coronation (County and Borough Police) 1911 (Supt. Y. Sainsbury. Glo´shire Police.), extremely fine, with photographic image of recipient (2) Estimate £ 380-420 K.P.M. London Gazette 1.1.1916 Young Sainsbury, Superintendent, Gloucestershire Constabulary, the Original Recommendation states, ´Young Sainsbury, Superintendent and Chief Clerk of Gloucestershire. 49 years of exemplary service distinguished by exceptional ability and merit.´ Superintendent Young Sainsbury, K.P.M. (1846-1928), born Tytherington, Gloucestershire; joined Gloucestershire Constabulary, 1866; appointed Chief Clerk 1876; retired April 1919 after 52 years service with the Police, 43 years of which as Chief Clerk, and 35 years as a Superintendent. He is buried in Cheltenham Cemetery.
