(Bucksburn) (Italy) ´On the night of 26th-27th October 1918, near Cimadolmo, under hostile shell fire, he was invaluable in getting his company into position. On the 27th he showed fine devotion to duty and fearlessness, attacking strong point after strong point, and leading and encouraging his men. Served in the Great War in Belgium 4.10-20.11.1914 (Severely wounded); in France 5.6-1.11.1917; in Italy 2.11.1917-1.3.1919; Promoted Company Quartermaster Sergeant 1.11.1915; Company Sergeant Major 29.1.1918. Discharged 8.1.1921 after 21 years with the colours; Quartermaster, 6th.
