The Ghuznee Medal to Colonel O. Robinson, 2nd Foot, Who Was Severely Wounded at the Capture of the Fort Ghuznee 1839 (Captain O. Robinson 2nd Queen´s Royal Regt.), reverse engraved in running script, with original straight bar suspension, nearly extremely fine, with contemporary silver riband bar Estimate £ 550-600 Colonel Oliver Robinson, born Guildford, Surrey, May 1800; Commissioned Ensign, October 1820; Promoted Lieutenant, January 1825; Adjutant, May 1833- February 1836; Captain, February 1836; served in Afghanistan and Baluchistan, 1838-39, including the storm and capture of Ghuznee, 23.7.1839, where he was severely wounded, and of Khelat, 13.11.1839; served in the Third Kaffir War 1851-53 as Assistant Quartermaster-General of the 2nd Division; Major, July 1853; retired as Brevet Colonel, December 1854; Colonel Robinson died February 1865.
