Maritime Wreck Covers of the World North America 1945 (4 Feb.) S.S. "Yukon", ran aground and was wrecked in Johnson bay, Prince William Sound, Alaska, envelope (225x100mm., stamp floated off) from Seattle to Anchorage and redirected to Washington, accompanied by Post Office typed label inscribed "this mail was received by the post office department/when recovered from the wreck of the steamship yukon" which was originally stapled to the cover, Anchorage machine d.s. (30.1) on reverse. The sole example of mail recovered from this accident, Photo Estimate £ 1,200-1,500
