A Civil Uniform A good bicorne hat, by Hogg & Sons, with gold gimp loop secured to a gilt Royal Arms button (without supporters) and black ostrich feather edging; a Levée Dress coatee of the 3rd Class, with black velvet facings and gold saw-edged embroidery to collar, cuffs, waist and pocket-flaps, gilt mounted Royal Arms buttons as on the hat; a good pair of blue cloth trousers with 2in. gold oakleaf lace stripes; a pair of white kerseymere knee-breeches, with cloth-covered knee-buttons and gilt buckles; a Civil Uniform sword, by Hill Brothers, Old Bond St, with etched decoration to blade and gilt metal beaded hilt, with gold lace sword-knot, in its black leather scabbard with gilt-brass locket and chape (repaired immediately below the locket); an evening dress coatee, of blue barathea, with black velvet collar and cuffs, and gilt buttons as on the Levée coat, tailor´s label inside of A E JONES & Co, SIMLA, named to Sir Philip Hartog and dated October 1926; two sword-frogs (one white, the other blue cloth); a pair of hose and two pairs of court shoes (lacking buckles); a pair of patent leather Wellingtons; all in a tin trunk painted with the name of P J HARTOG; and a white tropical helmet of modest quality, with brass (originally gilt) spike on gilt acanthus- leaf base (lot)
