An Officer´s Shako Plate of the Royal Artillery A very attractive and extremely rare example of the 1839 - 46 Pattern Belltop Shako plate, the hobnail star surmounted by a crown and mounted with Gun and UBIQUE scroll, all in gilt metal, as KK 801 (all fixings removed or shortened, a small, probably contemporary, reinforcement at the rear of the junction between crown and top of star, not affecting the original gilding) See illustration Estimate £ 500-600
