Great Britain Postal History England, Scotland & Wales 1920 (24 May) envelope with imprint of the Victory Club, St. James´, London, addressed to Liverpool, without adhesive or postage due marking and showing London S.W. 1 machine cancellations, the address panel with superb strike of framed "Detained, opened, and forwarded/to addressee by order of the/Secretary of State." in purple, the reverse with large "returned letter section" label printed in black on white; some creasing or minor perimeter tears though in no way detracting. An extremely rare and unusual marking. Photo
