A Corporal´s Coatee of the Royal Marines An extremely rare double-breasted red cloth coat with blue facings and white piping, hollow-backed pewter buttons by NUTTING, LONDON, white worsted tape loops on collar and cuff-slashes, a two-bar chevron on each sleeve, the bars formed as loops of white tape on blue backing, white skirt-linings and turnbacks without ornaments, shoulder-scales with blue cloth straps edged with white tape and brass crescents bearing crowned Anchor device (7 buttons missing from right hand row, device missing from right-hand shoulder-scale, device from left-hand scale slightly defective) See illustration Estimate £ 300-450
