Two Plaques of Military and Naval interest An oval metal plaque, depicting an army officer in late 18th century uniform, leaning pensively on a tomb inscribed THE PATHS OF GLORY LEAD BUT TO THE GRAVE; and a matching plaque, showing a blazing warship and inscribed L´ORIENT on Fire and MOUTH of the NILE, with a manuscript note glued to the reverse, dated 1Aug 1798, giving some notes on the Battle of the Nile, both 111/2in. x 9in.
