A Guidon of the 25th Light Dragoons A double-sided yellow silk guidon of the 2nd Troop, the centre painted XXV LD within a Union wreath above the troop number, the cartouches alternately containing the Horse and Union sprays, (no fringe), 23in. x 32in., in its double-glazed frame See illustration Note: This guidon was part to the Marquess of Londonderry´s estate, the Marquess of Londonderry having Colonel of the regiment from 1813 until its disbandment circa 1818. The guidon presumably pre-dates the award of the Elephant and Laswarree battle-honour which appeared on the regiment´s sabretaches (see Lot 44 above). Estimate £ 1,000-1,500
