An Officer´s Sabretache of the 25th Light Dragoons An extremely rare black leather sabretache, the pocket bearing a printed label inscribed Hawkes Moseley & Co/CAP MAKERS to their MAJESTIES/ The PRINCE OF WALES and ROYAL FAMILY/Helmet & Accoutrement Makers, Hatters &c, 22 PICCADILLY LONDON & 12 Grafton Street Dublin, the blue cloth flap 15in. deep overall, edged with 2in. silver train lace and bearing GR cypher above the Elephant and scroll inscribed LASWARREE (a small area of cloth replaced) See illustration Note: The 25th Light Dragoons (disbanded circa 1818) were the only British cavalry regiment to bear the Laswarree battle-honour at that date, the 8th Hussars not being granted it until 1825.
