Military General Service 1793-1814, three clasps, Roleia, Vimiera, Corunna (Robt. Dillon, Lieut. 32nd. Foot.), nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 1,400-1,800Major Robert Dillon, Commissioned Ensign 30.10.1805; Promoted Lieutenant 31.7.1806; served under Lord Cathcart at Copenhagen 1807, and was the last Officer on Guard over the Pontoon Bridge connecting the Dockyard with the Town. Consequently, Lieutenant Dillon had the honour of handing over the keys of the Arsenal to the Danish Admiral at midnight 7.11.1807; in July 1809, present at the taking of the Isle of Walcheren and Siege and Capture of Flushing, and the taking of Fort Battery in South Beveland. In 1811 Lieutenant Dillon returned to the Peninsular and was promoted Captain 10.10.1811, and was in support of the Sieges of Cuidad Rodrigo 8-19.1.1812 and Badajos 17.3-5.4.1812. Promoted Major 5.11.1818.
