E.R.A. 4 R.N.), edge bruising; 1939-1945 Star, light verdigris; Atlantic Star; Africa Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals; Naval Long Service & G.C., G.V.R., non-swivel suspension (M.29027 E.W. Meadows. C.E.R.A. 2. H.M.S. Comorant.), the last with corrections, nearly very fine or better, mounted as originally worn (10) Estimate £ 600-800D.S.M. London Gazette 2.6.1943 Chief Engine Room Artificer Ezra Wilson Meadows, C/M. 29027, ´For gallantry or outstanding service in the face of the enemy, or for zeal, patience and cheerfulness in dangerous waters, and for setting an example of wholehearted devotion to duty, without which the high tradition of the Royal Navy could not have been upheld.´ Chief Engine Room Artificer Ezra Wilson Meadows, D.S.M., born Battersea, London, 1892; E.R.A. 4th Class 2.12.1918; spent the majority of his Great War service at H.M.S. Pembroke (Chatham, Kent); E.R.A. 3rd Class, 23.1.1921; E.R.A. 2nd Class, 23.1.1925; served in H.M.S. Seaham (Minesweeper), during the Second War.
