Great Britain Illustrated Envelopes Southgate Comic envelope no. 1 ´Pickpocket´, used from Oxford to Taunton, the address panel with fine strikes of Oxford and London transit datestamps of 26 and 27 June 1840 in red, ink manuscript "1" and "Prepaid, June 26" (the latter in the same hand as the address); fine, extremely attractive and rare. Less than twenty examples (some being incomplete or fronts) are listed by Bodily, Jarvis & Hahn - this example being unrecorded by them. R.P.S. Certificate (2004).
