Charles I, group II, Halfcrown, 14.88g., Tower, type 2b, king in armour on smaller horse left, plume on horse´s head, cross on housing, reads MAG BR FR ET HIB, rev. oval garnished shield, large plume between C R above, single pellet in field, m.m. rose (over plume on obverse) (JGB 303 (same obv. die); N.2206; S.2770) lightly scratched in obverse field, struck from worn dies on both sides, otherwise an excellent example, pleasingly toned, good very fine, rare Estimate £ 500-600PROVENANCE: H M Lingford, collection purchased en bloc by Baldwin, 1951 Struck from the same obverse die as lot 88 above, and from the same dies as lot 92 below
