Charles I, group II, Halfcrown, 10.55g., Tower, type 2b, king in armour on smaller horse left, plume on horse´s head, cross on housing, reads MAG BRIT FR ET HIB, rev. oval garnished shield, large plume between C R above, two pellets in field, m.m. plume (JGB -; N.2206; S.2770) on a small clipped flan, lightly scratched in fields, with a yellowish colour, otherwise good fine, a very rare mintmark for this type Estimate £ 200-250PROVENANCE: Middleham Hoard, Spink Auction 109, 4 July 1995, lot 631 P Hunt, portion of collection purchased privately by Colin Adams, March 2000
