Charles I, group II, contemporary forgery of a Halfcrown, 9.31g., in pewter from false dies on a round flan, type 2c, king in armour on a smaller horse left, plume on horse´s head, cross on housing, reads MA BR FR ET HIB, rev. draped oval garnished shield, between C R, retrograde G in REGNO, m.m. tun on reverse only (cf. JGB 1186 (same dies); cf. N.2207; cf. S.2771) patches of light corrosion on reverse, several edge knocks, otherwise as struck, almost very fine Estimate £ 30-40Struck from the same false dies as lot 99 above.
