Henry VI, Groat, 3.57g., London, lis-pellet issue, crosses IIIb/none, lis on neck, fleur on breast, pellets by crown, no extra pellets in reverse, (Whitton 85/83e; S.1945/1935; N.1526/1517) edge crack from 4 o´ clock to centre, otherwise good fine, very rare with no extra pellets on reverse Estimate £ 120-150PROVENANCE: M Delme-Radcliffe, Glendining, 17 April 1985, lot 155 The ticket notes that this coin is a lis-pellet/cross-pellet mule, cross-pellet 83e being the last reverse noted by Whitton without extra pellets. It may, just as well, be an unrecorded reverse die variety of the lis-pellet issue.
