Henry VI, Groats (3), London, cross-pellet (B) coinage, (i) 3.69g., crosses IIIb/none, saltire on neck, lis on breast, pellets by crown, mullet after HENRIC and POSVI, extra pellets in TAS and DON quarters, TAS in CIVITAS over LON, (Whitton 77a; S. 1935; N. 1517); (ii) 3.67g., similar to last, A apparently over S and S over L in CIVITAS, (Whitton 76c); (iii) 3.53g., group C, without mullets after HENRIC and POSVI and with mascle after HENRIC and GRA, (Whitton 81/-; S.1936; N.1518) the first small scratch in obverse field, lightly double struck on portrait, the second striking split at 8 o´ clock, otherwise deeply toned, very fine, the third about fine, the errors scarce (3) Estimate £ 300-400PROVENANCE:
