An Infantry Officer´s Epaulettes A Victorian company-officer´s epaulettes, with 3in. narrow boxed bullions, gilt-copper crescents and plain "Vellum" lace straps with gilt buttons bearing XLIV within a strap inscribed REGIMENT, with brass tongue fastenings, in their shaped tin. Estimate £ 150-220The button is not of the pattern described by Parkyn for the 44th (East Essex) Regiment, suggesting that these epaulettes may have belonged to an officer of an HEIC regiment..
