The Most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick, Herald´s Badge, circa 1840, Cross of St. Patrick surrounded by the motto and date of the Order on an oval ring, gold and enamel, 60mm x 41mm, extremely fine and rare Estimate £ 3,500-4,000The Herald´s Badge was worn by the Cork and Dublin Heralds, and the Athlone, Cork, and Junior Pursuivants, which the two Heralds wore on ceremonial occasions together with a Collar of SS. Reputedly only five of these badges exist.
