Fripp. Wiltshire Regt.), good very fine or better (3) Estimate £ 1,400-1,800D.C.M. London Gazette 27.9.1901 2839 Private C.E. Fripp 2nd Bn. Wiltshire Regiment. ´Private Tripp (sic.) received the Distinguished Conduct Medal for reloading and rescuing a wagon under heavy fire.´ (´Short Histories of the Territorial Regiments of the British Army´, R. De M. Rudolf, page 542 refers). One of nine D.C.M.s to the Wiltshire Regiment, awarded during the Boer War 1899-1902.
