A Japanese Military Wakizaski With short (223/4 in.) unsigned blade c.1600 (signs of shortening), copper sleeve, circular iron disc tsuba and ferrule, rayskin-covered grip with brown suka-ito, finely-made bronze menuki and flat-topped civilian-style iron pommel, in a rather longer lacquered wooden scabbard, fitted with leather sleeve laced at the throat.
