Crime and Punishment Punishment Transportation 1799 privately carried entire letter from Richard Coleman at Newgate Gaol in London, held on remand accused of stealing ´three live sheep´, and subsequently transported; 1817 printed ten-page ´Calendar of Prisoners´ issued for the Liverpool Easter Sessions which notes two men charged with stealing ´… one carpet…. one poker & 1 shovel´ who were transported for seven years; 1839 printed Police ´Pass´ form issued at Campbell Town issued to a convict, George Luke, allowing him to search for work outside the prison confines; 1846 letter inserts (2) relating to different convicts who had been accused of further offences whilst serving their sentences; a fine and attractive group.
