Crime and Punishment Punishment Transportation 1759 (30 June) entire letter from John Okier, awaiting trial in Devon, to Crewkerne, the reverse with fine ´30/IV´ Bishop Mark, the content includes ´I need not describe to you the uneasiness every man must be under to be transported from his being´ - he was found guilty of a felony and sent to ´his Majesty´s Colonies and Plantations in America for Seven Years´; minor cover faults. Also 1785 entire letter from Spanish Town, Jamaica carried on board ´The Lady Juliana´ (this ship was later employed as a convict transport vessel).
