Crime and Punishment Crimes Military Desertion 1847 entire letter, the address panel with printed ´On Her Majesty´s Service´ and ´War-Office.´, used from London to Cornwall, the content being an official order to detain and incarcerate ´Robert Mullett….. a Deserter from the 55th Foot´ (relating to the Westmoreland Regiment) – it seems that the authorities were determined to ´nail´ this man because the letter goes on to indicate that in the event of his acquittal on this charge he should be re-arrested ´on the charge of felony´; 1792 part Court Circular including a directive for the prosecution of offences committed on the ´High seas´ within Admiralty jurisdiction; 1918 ´The Tribunal´ 1d. news-sheet, issues for 7 February and 11 April, - the publication was devoted to the cause of conscientious objectors and the abolition of ´The Curse of Conscription…. The Madness of Militarism´; some faults though still a fine and most interesting group Estimate £ 300-350
