Crime and Punishment Crimes Forgery 1892, the philatelic forgery case of Jeffryes, Benjamin and Sarpi, examples of the Hawaii ´fantasy´ $2 red and $5 blue (the latter with small black ´essay´ h.s.), interestingly written-up on album page, also examples of their forged New South Wales ´Sydney View´ 1d. red., 2d. blue and 3d. green – the three men produced thousands of forged stamps from a variety of different countries: they were found guilty of ´Conspiracy to Defraud´ and sentenced to between four and six months hard labour Estimate £ 150-180
