— An accompanying entire letter from George Cowell at Dover to Josiah in Chelmsford, the reverse with 1841 1d. plate 14 unusually affixed as a seal over the join (subsequently damaged upon opening) and tied by black Maltese Cross, dated 7 September 1841, the interior with beautiful engraved heading of Plymouth harbour with ink manuscript ´Dovor, Kent,´ and the letter content with pictorial scene of a man diving into the sea and describes a violent thunderstorm "The lightning played in vivid yet awful flashes"; a most appealing item.
