Indian Police Medal for Distinguished Conduct, G.V.R., ´Crowned Head´ type (Rehmatullah, Asstt. Sub-Inspr. N.W.F.P. Police), removed from a mount and suspension re-affixed, very fine Estimate £ 200-250 I.P.M. Gazette of India 29.8.1936 ´At about 2.30p.m., on 5th June, one Gian Singh was murdered in the Mansehra Bazar by one Abdul Rehman Khan Swathi of village Sabar Shah. The murderer after killing Gian Singh ran through the bazar armed with a knife calling on Sikhs not to run away from him. Rehmatullah Khan, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Shinkiari Police Station, was seated in the bazar at the time. On hearing the disturbance he ran towards it. Realising what had happened he went up to Abdul Rehman single handed, arrested him, and deprived him of his knife. The Assistant Sub-Inspector displayed great presence of mind, coolness and courage and his timely action prevented an ugly situation from becoming much worse.´
