Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society Small Silver Medal, 38mm. (Mr. James Stewart. 2nd Officer S.S. "Larnaca" For The Rescue Of 10 Men Of The "Alfred" In A Gale By A Boat 12/8/1895.), suspension loose, very fine, without its silver riband buckle Estimate £ 80-100 ´A Silver Medal and vote of thanks to Mr. James Stewart, Second Officer of the Larnaca, for having, with a boat´s crew, in a high sea, rescued the crew of the Alfred with considerable difficulty; and 20 shillings each to the five seamen who, with their officer, effected this rescue.´ (57th Annual Report of the Committee of the Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society 1896 refers).
