Charles I (1625-49) Tower under Parliament, Crown, 30.17g., group 4, m.m. sun, compact portrait of king on horseback three-quarters left, holding sword upright, rev. oval garnished shield (FRC dies XXIV/XXXVII; N.2198; S.2838), weak in parts and very slightly irregular, otherwise as struck, with a most attractive even old tone, almost extremely fine, rare thus Estimate £ 1,500-2,000 provenance:
