CAPE OF GOOD HOPE 1861 "Woodblock" Issue Due to the nature of the paper used for these issues many examples show irregularities, both in the form of surface pitting and in the form of pre-printing paper creases. Our descriptions usually exclude the above, any defects mentioned being those which occurred after the stamps were delivered Four Pence Pale Milky Blue Single Type IA, good to large margins at foot, cut-into elsewhere, neatly cancelled with a fine strike of the triangular obliterator on 1861 (12 Apr.) entire letter from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town with oval datestamps for both overlapping on reverse.
