A Victorian Artillery Officer's Frock Coat An extremely rare double-breasted coat, of the pattern introduced in 1838, with scarlet piping to collar, fronts, skirt-flaps and cuffs, two rows of eight fine gilt 1840-55 pattern scallop-edged buttons by JENNENS (Crown over three Guns above UBIQUE scroll) in front, high collar bearing large embroidered grenades, the garment partially lined, and with metal fittings for attachment of scales (defective embroidery to ball of one collar-grenade, the ball of the other now replaced by one of incorrect pattern) See illustration Estimate £ 150-200
