†Charles I, Crown, Tower mint, Nicholas Briot's coinage, first milled issue, m.m. flower and B/B, king crowned and in armour, holding sword upright, on 'Briot' horse left, stoney ground below, rev. crowned oval garnished shield, dividing crowned C R (JGB 714 (same dies); N.2298; S.2852), a beautiful specimen, as struck, with a very attractive even grey tone over underlying blue/gold lustre, extremely fine or better, very rare thus Estimate £ 4,000-5,000 provenance:
