NORTH BORNEO Early Letters 1845 (3 Oct.) entire letter ex the Capt. Fanshawe correspondence from Singapore via Marseilles to London, rated "2/3" and showing, on reverse, boxed "singapore/Paid" d.s. and two London d.s, all in red. The contents, written from H.M.S. Cruizer, describes the battle of Maruda Bay, against the pirate stronghold of Serip Osman, in which he had taken part. It contains a small drawing of the scene of the attack.
