An Officer's Fur Cap of the 1st West York Yeomanry A good and extremely rare cap, of dark-brown fur, bearing a short white plume in a gilt ball socket mounted with the Rose in white metal, white metal chin-chain with velvet backing, original headband, with its calico bag and cylindrical tin Estimate £ 600-800 Note: This cap was worn by G.B.C. Yarborough, who served with the West York Yeomanry after resigning from the 14th Hussars. This pattern of cap was worn from 1862 until the adoption of Dragoon style helmets in 1876. The Regiment became the Yorkshire Dragoons in 1889.
