†An Officer's Helmet of the 4th Dragoon Guards 1871 pattern, with fine gilt-brass skull and fittings, 8-pointed white metal "hobnail" star of regimental pattern, mounted with Shamrock on St Patrick's cross within a gilt oval inscribed QUIS SEPARABIT MDCCLXXXIII in voided letters on pale blue enamel (damage to enamelled centre of Shamrock), white plume with large rosette finial, chin-chain lined with black velvet (original leather internal headband but silk element of lining replaced) Estimate £ 1,600-2,400
