Beaumont, Metropolitan Police, Late Royal Artillery Queen's Police Medal, E.II.R., For Distinguished Service (Harold Beaumont, Commdr., Metropolitan Police), in Royal Mint case of issue; Order of St. John, Officer's breast Badge, silver and enamel; British War and Victory Medals (121307 Gnr. H. Beaumont R.A.); Defence Medal; Jubilee 1935; Coronation 1937; Police Long Service & G.C., G.VI.R., mounted as worn, with contemporary invitations to Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace (8) Estimate £ 650-750 Q.P.M. London Gazette 21.1.1955 Commander Harold Beaumont Q.P.M., served in the Royal Artillery during the Great War; joined Metropolitan Police, 1919; served as a Constable at Tottenham until 1923, when he transferred to the Commissioner's Office (Administration); Sergeant, 1925; Station Sergeant, 1927; Inspector, 1930; 1930-34 engaged on work to re-organise the Force, and in 1934 was posted as SubDivisional Inspector in charge of Blackheath Road Sub-Division, R Division; transferred back to the Commissioner's Office as Chief Inspector in charge of A.3 Branch; posted to T Division, Chief Inspector (Administration), 1937; transferred to No. 1 District Headquarters, later that year was promoted to Superintendent and transferred to the newly-formed A.R.P. Section; with the outbreak of the Second World War was appointed Police Liason Officer, London C.O. Region and in 1940 took up duties in the Organisation Department, C.O.; Superintendent in charge of V Division, 1945; advanced to the rank of Commander, 1948.
