Great Britain 1817 (27 Dec.) entire to Calcutta, the address panel with very fine strike of the exceedingly rare black scroll-type "put in after 7 o'clock/at night.", black circular "india ship letter/g.p.o./london" datestamp (Robertson In. 1) and red Inspector's 'star' adjacent, rated "1/2" in manuscript; part of upper flap missing and a few strengthened perimeter splits but in no way detarcting from this clean and attractive rarity.
