Germany. An officers' 1868-Pattern Bavarian 'Raupenhelm', worn by members of the Reserve and Landwehr infantry regiments. Lacquered black leather skull, black leather chinstrap, gilded metal fixtures and fittings including silver-and-blue cockade to left side, prominent bearskin-fur crest, this possibly original, interior with leather lining and manufacturers' stamps including Christian Block, München paper label, an entirely complete and most attractive example which was only worn between 1881 - 1886. Rare. Good Very Fine.
