A Remarkable Elizabethan to Georgian Gold Coin Bracelet, c. 1587-1817 (13), in a yellow-metal 'Daisy Chain', 104.24g (Cumulative Weight), all flash gilt and mounted with four-clasp interlocking hoops, including:
i) George III, Guinea, 1785 (MCE 389; Spink 3728), soldered, some bagmarks, otherwise struck details about extremely fine
ii) George III, Guinea, 1777, 'J type 1' (MCE 382; Spink 3728), soldered, scuff on cheek, otherwise struck details a bolder very fine
iii) George III, 'Spade' Guinea, 1787 (MCE 382; Spink 3728), soldered, scuffs in field, otherwise struck details very fine or marginally better
iv) Charles I, Group B, Gold Double Crown, 1630-1631, m.m. anchor with rounded flukes (Brooker 148-149; Spink 2699), soldered, previously pierced at 12 and 6 o'clock and amateurishly plugged, nevertheless a bold portrait, struck details better than very fine
v) James I, 'Touchpiece' or Angel, 1618-1619, m.m. plain cross (Spink 2616), previously pierced and split at 10 o'clock and subsequently plugged, nevertheless struck details pleasingly uniform and bold, lamentably mounted but a very rare survivor
vi) Charles I, Group C, Unite, 1631-1632, Class IIa, m.m. rose (Brooker 70; Spink 2690), soldered, creased, dented and pierced at 12 o'clock, otherwise on a neat round flan, good to fair
vii) James I, Second Coinage, Unite, 1618-1619, m.m. plain cross (Spink 2620), soldered, heavily dented on face, creased across breast and a small piercing at 6 o'clock, otherwise fair to almost fine
viii) Charles II, Second Hammered Issue, Unite, April - October 1662, by Thomas Simon, m.m. crown (Bull, dies O7/R6 ~ EGC 134 [R3]; Spink 2620), soldered, pierced at 12 o'clock and repaired, otherwise a neat round coin, struck details almost very fine, a rare die pairing according to Bull
ix) Elizabeth I, Second 'Restoration' Coinage, Sixth Issue, Angel, 1 June 1587 - 31 January 1590, m.m. crescent [over escallop on obverse] (Brown and Comber C34; Spink 2531), pierced and plugged at 11 o'clock, heavily soldered in legends, otherwise struck details very fine, an historic issue from the time of the Spanish Armada
x) George III, Guinea, 1786 (MCE 390; Spink 3728), soldered, some flecking, otherwise struck details about extremely fine
xi) George III, 'Spade' Guinea, 1791 (MCE 395; Spink 3729), soldered, otherwise struck details a bolder very fine
xii) George III, 'New Coinage', Sovereign, 1817 (Marsh 1; MCE 464; Spink 3785), soldered, a gouge before neck and edge repaired at 12 o'clock, otherwise struck details a bolder very fine, the sought-after first year of issue
xiii) Netherlands, Utrecht, Trade Ducat, 1745 (Fb. 285), pierced, plugged and soldered with catchment plate on reverse, otherwise struck details about extremely fine; a truly remarkable and unusual bracelet, lamentable for its destruction of prized English numismatic rarities but most notable as a statement piece for any true connoisseur collector (13)
