1971 Collier Trophy Award. Letter from President Richard Nixon to Senator Mike Monroney, President, NAA. One page, typed on embossed White House letterhead, May 19, 1972. Nixon tells Monroney that "Dr. Robert Gilruth and the members of the Apollo Fifteen crew are eminently worthy to be listed among the greats of aeronautics and astronautics." He ends by warmly congratulating "Dr. Gilruth, Colonel Scott, Colonel Irwin and Lieutenant Colonel Worden" and signs below in black. Very Fine.
